Easy DIY Body Butter Only 3 Ingredients

Easy DIY Body butter, only 3 ingredients

Today I am going to share with you yet another body butter recipe, My last recipe was very popular, however, I got many requests to make body butter with Shea Butter and Coconut oil, and I am so excited to report that I have made it and its absolutely amazing, also its the most easy diy body butter ever.

Its also very moisturizing, and it looks yummy, but don’t eat it, not that anything bad will happen to you if you eat it, its just that the taste won’t be as good as it looks lol 🙂 Trust me 🙂

The body butter is becoming very popular and more and more people are opting to make their own, there are all kinds of body butters and because they are easy to make and they give your skin intense moisture, also body butter can be used on any part of the body especially when its made of natural organic ingredients.

This easy diy body butter is good for your scalp too

You can even use body butter like the one I am about to share with you, on your scalp, the Shea Butter and Coconut oil wil nourish your scalp and the Aloe Vera will soothe your scalp if its irritated. So there are many benefits of making your own body butter.

I Like making my own body butter because I know exactly what is in it and I know the ammount of each ingredient, which means I can control how much of lets say Aloe Vera I want to put, which is great, I have now discovered what my skin likes and what it doesn’t like.

And that makes it easy for me to make body butter that will cater for my needs. So I say try diffrent oils and butters and see which one works better for your skin, myself I think I will be alternating between Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter.

I also think I will be changing up the oils too, like sometimes I will use olive oil, and other times I will use coconut oil. I have to say, if you decide to use olive oil, make sure to mix it with some Almond oil because olive oil is heavy, so to lighten it up, add a table spoon of almond oil.

But Coconut oil is light so you can use it on its own

Let me not waste any more of your precious time and let’s just jump right into the recipe. So you will need

  • 50 g pure unrefined Shea Butter
  • 5 tbs(about75ml) organic cold pressed Coconut oil2 tbs organic cold
  • pressed Aloe Vera gel

So as you can see, you only need 3 ingredients to make this amazing body butter. you can get all these ingredients from your nearest organic shop diy body butter.

And here is our butter all finished

How to store your easy diy body butter

Don’t store your body butter in the fridge, it’s not necessary, just store ts in a dark cool place, and just have the small jar on your dresser.

Once you are done, I recommend that you use a small jar to store the amount you are going to be using and then just store the rest in a jar and then you will be taking from the big jar when the small jar runs out, I found this helps in maintaining the freshness.

So that is our body butter, I hope you will try to make it because its really good, the texture of it is lighter than when I made it with Cocoa Butter. I will mention one thing though, when I made it with Cocoa Butter, I said I did not put any essential oil because I liked the smell of cocoa butter.

If you haven’t tried my previous recipe, please do so, I will link it at the bottom of this post.

With this one I wish I had used some essential oil because the coconut and Shea Butter don’t not have strong scent so I think next time I make it I will add some enssetial oil to give it a stronger scent.

So my suggestion is if you would prefer a strong scent, then maybe you can add few drops of your favorite essential oil, I think next time I will add Lavender essential oil because I really like Lavender.

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this recipe and I hope you find it interesting enough to try, I also hope that when you do try it, you will share with me your views.

  1. Great recipe and it looks easy enough for me to whip some up.

Is it possible to sub cocoa butter for the shea butter or will that mess up the ratios? Thanks in advance.

    • Hi Irma, I haven’t used coconut oil with cocoa butter, I did use cocoa butter with olive oil in my previous DIY article and it was amazing too, in the future I will try to do cocoa butter and coconut and see how it will turn out, I think it will be great.
