Today we are going to talk about how to get rid of stretch marks at home. If you have stretch marks, you are not alone, most people will experience these annoying marks at a point in their lives. Stretch marks can cause you to feel unattractive making you lose your self-confidence. Most people opt to hide them or cover them with makeup. But today I want to share with you ways that you can eliminate stretch marks, and regain your confidence.
Obviously we are heading to summertime when people wear fewer clothes so the chances of you being able to cover your stretch marks are low, I mean where will you hide your stretch marks in a bikini? Or bathing suit even if it’s a one-piece, your thighs will still be exposed and we know thighs, belly, butt, and sometimes even calves, can have stretch marks.
As a stretch mark sufferer myself. Since my weight keeps fluctuating, I am always trying to find out how to get rid of stretch marks, or prevent them and I must admit I have found ways that work and I have found ways that don’t work. But before we go further let’s find out what stretch marks are and what causes them to appear on your skin.
What Are Stretch Marks And What Causes Them?
Stretch marks are caused by rapid body growth for example a rapidly growing belly due to pregnancy, a rapid weight gain, or even rapid weight loss. Stretch marks can also occur as a result of breast implants or the intake of steroids. Lack of skin elasticity due to low or lack of collagen can also cause stretch marks.
Although, stretch marks are common in women especially pregnant women. Men do also get stretch marks, and you don’t have to gain weight to get stretch marks, even the men who are working out and building muscles can get stretch marks as the skin stretches to accommodate the bulging mussels.
By Increasing Skin Elasticity, You Can Prevent Stretch Marks
There are ways to prevent this problem, the most effective way is to increase skin elasticity and to keep the skin hydrated at all times. You can use a collagen cream, or take collagen boost supplements. Also, you also need to drink lots of water to give your skin hydration from within.
If you can, keeping your weight the same will also help, but this can be difficult especially for teens who are going through puberty. But the good thing about the young ones, is that the stretch marks will disappear because your skin is young and able to heal itself as your body continues to grow.
Of course as I have mentioned in this article, diet plays a major part in keeping your skin healthy, so if you can maintain a healthy diet, your skin will be hydrated and it will have collagen to help with elasticity, which will keep stretch marks at bay.
How I Discovered A Stretch Mark Remedy By Accident
I am going to share with you how I accidentally discovered a remedy for stretch marks. OK, so I was having problems with my menstrual cycles, I was having lots of cramping even when I was not in my menstrual phase. So someone suggested That I should start doing abdominal massages using castor oil.
When I was not on my menstrual, I was supposed to apply castor oil on my belly, then put a heating pad, leave for 30 minutes and then massage for about 20 minutes, I did this at least 3 times a week for 3 months, I was very surprised to find out not only did it ease my menstrual cramps, but my stretch marks on my tummy had faded.
Obviously if you are pregnant you cannot do this therapy. But if you are not pregnant, this is an effective way to not only increase blood flow to your abdominal area, but also a way to get rid of stretch marks at home.
For Pregnant Women, Think Cocoa Butter.
I know that there are many people who recommend Bio oil for stretch marks, And scars, don’t get me wrong Bio-Oil is a great product. It’s just that in my opinion Cocoa Butter is very effective in keeping stretch marks at bay during pregnancy. The best way to use Cocoa Butter is to make a body butter just like the one I made here, it’s very easy to make and super effective.
While you are making your body butter for stretch marks use two tablespoons of each olive oil and pure organic apricot oil, those two oils will complement the Cocoa butter giving you maximum stretch mark remover.
But Is There Another Way Of Getting Rid Of Stretch Marks?
For those of you who would rather bring in the big guns so to speak, I have a cream that will help you. This stretch mark therapy is by Skiception. They are so confident in their product that they will give you a 60-day money-back guarantee. This Intensive Stretch mark Therapy will help reduce the appearance of Stretch marks by 75% just after 2 jars of therapy.
Skinception has come up with a formula that is parked with high levels of collagen, which as we mentioned earlier the skin need this protein not only to help it stretch but also to help it heal itself thus preventing the separation that occurs within deeper layers of your skin which causes stretch marks.
By supplying your skin with high levels of collagen-like the amount contained in the Skinception Intensive Stretch Mark Therapy, you will be able to give your skin the boost it needs to heal its self and that is what helps fade the stretch marks after using the cream for a short period of time.
Conclusion
Stretch marks are very common, and people of all ages will experience these marks at some point. Now even though they are not pretty to look at, they are a reminder of somethings that you have gone through in your life. May it be pregnancy, may it be weight loss, weight gain.
They can also be as a result of growing up, although, they are not very easy to get away with, if you practice lots of discipline and patience, you can achieve your goal of being stretch mark free. Remember there is no magical remedy, you need to be patient, and follow whatever therapy you decide to go with.
If it’s home remedies, prepare a lot in advance so you can always have enough supply, it also helps to create a routine, so you don’t forget to apply your cream.

It is always good to be able to learn more about my skin and one of the most embarrassing things for me apart from the pimples and acne on my face is the stretch marks that shows at different parts of my body. I’m happy you can tell us what causes it and also give a good recommendation. Is this entirely made from natural sources?
Hi Jay I have mentioned Cocoa Butter which is of course natural, And my body butter recipe contains cold pressed extra virgin olive oil as well as cold pressed pure apricot oil, and of course 100% natural safe to eat Cocoa Butter.
Hello Rose, thanks for sharing this really nice article. This is something that affects a lot of people both male and female and it can be really annoying some times even if it’s a natural thing to happen. However, getting to see a remedy for it where you can get it out in your home is really nice. I would show my wife this article some she can learn from it. Cheers
Hello there Justin, thank you so much for reading and commenting on my article. And yes if you can share this article with your wife, she might find value in it.
Again thank you.
Rose.
The post really resonated with me since I had to battle stretch marks after the birth of my daughter who was a massive 4kgs when born. So you can imagine the sudden loss of fat I experienced and the associated stretchmarks. Just as you mentioned, I used Bio oil, which was good but expensive. I wish I had known about cocoa butter then! But definitely a super useful post. One to keep in mind for my next child – cocoa butter and skiception are on the list!
Hey Priya, wow a 4kg baby, that is a big baby, bet people thought you were expecting twins huh, anyway, I am glad that you enjoyed my article and hope you will come back for more.
And yes, Bio Oil is too expensive, I think Coca Butter is as effective and cheaper, especially when you buy it raw and make your own recipe where you can add oils according to your liking.
Thank you for your comment.
