How To Make Coffee Hair Mask For Healthy Scalp And Hair Growth

A lot of people spend lots of money on hair growth products. This is very common, especially in the black community. Today I want to share with you a recipe for a hair mask that will help you grow your hair. I am going to show you how to make coffee hair mask.

This is the easiest and the cheapest hair mask you can make and it’s super effective, once you learn how to make coffee hair mask, your hair and scalp will be happy. One thing that women especially African women struggle with is how to maintain and handle our hair. I mean let’s be honest, dealing with African hair is not easy. But with proper care and the right products, you can grow natural, long healthy hair.

What I have learned about my hair, since I decided to stop relaxing my hair, is that our hair might look taught, but it’s actually very fragile, and it needs lots of gentleness and care when handling it. pulling and tugging your hair will just break it.

Managing My Own Hair Has Taught Me A Lot

Also, I have learned that it’s actually better to use your own fingers to detangle your hair because with your fingers you are able to feel the knots and detangle them without breaking the hair. Its been a journey for me because I had to learn how to take care of my natural hair, I had to find products that agree with my hair.

Living in Greece has made it possible for me to learn how to do my hair, thanks to YouTube because when I go to hair salons here, they don’t know how to handle my hair so I decided to be doing my own hair, I have learned how to do my own braids, as well as other styles.

By dealing with my own hair myself, I have actually managed to grow my hair to a length that I had never grown it before without relaxing creams.

One of the misconceptions when it comes to African hair is that it doesn’t grow or it grows very slowly. Of course, your genetics and your overall health will determine just fast and long your hair will grow. Your hair texture will also determine how you will be able to retain length, I mean our sisters who have loose curls, are able to retain length better than someone like me who has very tight curls. The tighter the curls the more chances you have of breakage.

But as I said with lots of love, gentleness, and care, you are able to grow your hair by retaining length.

So Let’s Get Into How To Make Coffee Hair Mask

This is the easiest thing you have ever made and it works so well you won’t believe it. In this recipe, we are going to use coffee which is known to stimulate hair follicles for hair rapid hair growth. We are also going to use honey which calms your scalp and helps with smoothing your hair follicles, it also helps to lock in moisture so your hair and scalp don’t dry up. Coconut oil is going to nourish your scalp and softening the hair, it also helps with hair growth, it also helps fight scalp conditions like dandruff.

OK, let’s get started. Remember you can change the measurement to suit the length of your hair. For example, you can choose to double or even triple the recipe to suit your needs.

  • 1 tbsp natural honey
  • 2 tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1 tbs coffee powder

How to make

Mix Coconut oil with the coffee, then add the honey and mix well. After thoroughly washing your hair with warm water and your favorite shampoo, detangle your hair, and then massage the coffee mask into your scalp, and also apply on hair from roots to tips. Once your hair is fully covered with the mask wear a shower cap and wrap your head with a towel.

Leave the mask on for 30 to 45 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Style as desired. Since I started using this mask, my hair is super shiny and vibrant, also I have noticed that my scalp is clear of dryness and dandruff. The natural color of my hair is enhanced. I must say that I do also use Jamaican castor oil on my hair as well, to help with dandruff.

Conclusion

Hair growth is one of the concerns of many women especially African women. And because of our shrinkage, you might think we don’t have long hair but once it’s stretched by a blow-dry, it gets quite long, but then when it gets wet it really shrinks. Also, because our hair is very delicate, it breaks easily and that’s why many women think that their hair is not growing.

When in reality it’s actually growing just fine. Like if you relax your hair, don’t you need to go every after a few weeks for retouching because of the new growth? That’s proof that your hair is growing.

Anyway, I will stop there for now, but I really would like to read your comments, how do you take care of your hair and scalp? Do you have a mask recipe that you would like to share with us? please leave it in the comment section.

Thank you for your time.

Rose.

  1. Okay, I know that all of those ingredients are great for certain things, but I never thought about combining them to use on hair. I know that African hair is wildly different than caucasion hair, but I am sure we have similarities as well.

For instance, my hair can be very fine and soft one day and kind of brittle the next. I have a lot of gray hair and I do mean a lot. I shed worse than my dog sometimes. Do you think that this mask would help with my shedding problem? I swear, sometimes I feel like I am losing way too much hair.

I currently only use natural shampoos and I do not use any other products on my hair. I cannot even tell you the last time I used a curling iron or hair dryer, LOL

I just may have to try this mask, although, I may have to triple the recipe. Might make a great gift idea too. Thank you for sharing.
